The Realm is dominated by its Kites: the great Cody manlifters in which the Corps Observers float by night and day, waiting the return of the Demons who once laid the world to waste. The Vars and the Middle Doctrine contend for possession of the land "under the Kites": a schism that threatens to erupt into violence and danger.
