Thomas is a fifteen year old traveller, a professional guide to the old trade routes across Asia. He is asked to go further east than any traveller has been, in search of the legendary kingdom of Prester John. Thomas agrees on one condition - that he may have a donkey to go with him. But Ears is no ordinary donkey.
