Ideas of separation and divorce inhabit many of the poems in this collection. The book revolves around two poems 'Y Gaer' and 'The Hillfort', the titles suggesting the linguistic divide in Wales, from poems concerned with a Welsh childhood, to a more outward looking vision both geographically and historically.
