The story is set in England in the 1520s. Henry VIII is on the throne, but has no heir. He wants to annul his present marriage and marry Anne Boleyn instead. Into this atmosphere comes Thomas Cromwell, first as cardinal Wolsey’s clerk, and later as his successor as the king’s chief advisor. Part 1/2.
