The Foxes of Harrow

The Irish gambler Stephen Fox has settled near New Orleans. He establishes himself as a wealthy planter, building the great hall of Harrow. He marries local beauty Odalie, but she turns out to be frigid. He takes on a mistress, Desiree. The last part of the book takes up with Stephen's son, Etienne. This story brings to life a bygone era of plantation life in the Deep South.
