Life and times of Michael K
Life and times of Michael K
Michael K, the anti-hero of this tale of war and the dispossessed, is stronger than any hero and more subversive than any freedom fighter because he refuses to be assimilated into the system, to belong to one side or the other or even to be helped. A jobbing gardener with a harelip and a dying mother, he yet manages to live his own life on his own terms, however minimal, while society is disintegrating around him.
